Princess Farhana Does Juneau

Rising up out of the level of rumor and wishful thinking, it's gelled into absolute truth -- Princess Farhana really is coming to Alaska!

HRH will be arriving the afternoon of August 6. She's slotted for an interview with Jeff Brown on A Juneau Afternoon (KTOO 104.3) at 3pm on Friday, August 7, so be sure to listen in!

The Rendezvous (downtown) will be hosting a show featuring the Princess, Noodle of Doum, Patshiva, and whomever else we can con into playing along, on Friday, August 7, starting around 9:30-10:00 p.m., and continuing until 1:00 a.m. or thereabouts... followed the next morning (Saturday, August 8) by a series of workshops at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

(If Heritage has a clue, they'll set up a coffee stand right there at the entry to the JACC Saturday morning...)

There is a chance that the workshops will be bumped back an hour so they run 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but we haven't heard back on that request yet. We'll keep you all posted on that.

The workshops are very much intended to be for all levels, from those who just want to give it a try because it sounds like a fun way to spend the day, all the way to those who have been dancing for a while.

Finally, there will be opportunities for private lessons for individuals or small groups hosted by UAS on August 8 and 9 at the Rec Center in the Valley.

All the details of the workshops are available on the Noodle of Doum website under "events." While you're at it, stop by the "stuff" page and order yourself a Noodle of Doum t-shirt, mug, or clock!

If you live up on the road system and can't make it to Juneau, not all is lost! Princess Farhana will be leaving Juneau on August 11 and heading up to Anchorage to give workshops and perform with VivaVoom Brrrlesque at Chilkoot Charlie's August 13-15.

That's the news for now...
